East Tennessee Historical Society
Signage
When the stately, new East Tennessee History Center opened to the public in 2004, the East Tennessee Historical Society, the Knox County Library, and Public Building Authority tapped Media South to develop a system of display and way-finding signage. It had to be appropriate to the historical nature of the building and in keeping with the visual identity Media South developed previously. The results, as you can see, were quite striking. The new display signage uses the historic Caslon typeface in concert with dusty grays and blues of the Society’s primary identity. To achieve a cohesive, attractive, cost-effective look, we developed the way-finding signage using this established color scheme and standard signage typefaces and materials.
