ORAU/ORISE

Brand and Visual Identity Program

ORAU was largely misunderstood, particularly in its hometown. Its name and the names of its sub-brands are an alphabet soup of governmental acronyms; plus, although it’s not a school, ORAU was invariably included in the school closings list on radio and TV stations. They needed identity help fast. A 96-member university consortium, scientist training, national lab partnerships, nuclear emergency response: the challenge was to design a graphic identity framework for ORAU’s complex initiatives. Using original ORAU and ORISE (a subbrand) logos, Media South designed complimentary logo treatments and color palettes for ORAU and all its subbrands. We produced print and online stylebooks with design guidelines—quick, effective tools for maintaining ORAU’s brand integrity.
